More than 13 million tons of products were exported from Ukraine in April
In April, more than 13 million tons of products were shipped from Ukraine. This is a significant increase compared to the previous months, when exports were 11.8 million tons in March and 12 million tons in January.
About this reported First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko.
Last month, exports amounted to more than 13 million tons, which exceeded the figures for February 2022. In monetary terms, exports in April reached $3.3 billion.
“This is an absolute record for the entire time of the large-scale war,” Svyridenko emphasized. “For comparison, in March, exports amounted to 11.8 million tons, and in January – 12 million tons.“
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, “measures to restore and increase exports, which the government of Ukraine is taking together with our international partners, are yielding excellent results.”
“We continue to work on increasing the volume of exports, primarily of non-raw materials, because an important component of our policy is “Made in Ukraine”. Together with the increase in production volumes and the attraction of investments in the real sector, this will contribute to the development of the economy“, she noted.
Svyridenko also pointed to a number of factors that contributed to record exports in April:
- The opening of an alternative sea corridor in the summer of last year, which allows Ukraine to export, in particular, grain and metal.
- The UNITY ship insurance program, created jointly with the British government and a pool of insurance companies, promotes the realization of Ukraine’s export potential.
- Expansion of the bandwidth of Solidarity Lines, primarily with Moldova and Romania.
- Improvement of the conditions of transportation of goods by railway to the Danube ports.
