The Cabinet of Ministers has expanded the sale of medicines: over-the-counter drugs will appear at gas stations
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a decision that allows the sale of over-the-counter medicines in the premises of gas stations. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
The sale of such drugs at gas stations will be possible only if there is an appropriate license and subject to compliance with the established requirements. In particular, proper storage of medicines, their receipt and quality control must be ensured. An authorized pharmaceutical employee responsible for the quality system will be responsible for these processes. Also, a separate area for storing medicines must be equipped in the gas station premises, separated from other goods.
In addition, the government has allowed the sale of over-the-counter medicines at gas stations through vending machines. This format is possible provided that the requirements for storing medicines and conducting incoming quality control are met.
The Ministry of Health notes that these changes are aimed at increasing the availability of over-the-counter medicines, especially in settlements where pharmacies are absent or operate unstable. The innovation is also expected to help reduce the cost of medicines for consumers.
Separately, the government recalled a previously adopted decision on state support for enterprises of the defense-industrial complex. This is a preferential financial leasing program, which allows critical arms manufacturers to receive transport and equipment at reduced rates to expand production capacities.
