Musk calls Scholz a fool over coalition collapse: German government’s reaction

American entrepreneur Elon Musk called German Chancellor Olaf Scholz a fool after the collapse of the coalition. The German government reacted calmly to this statement. This was reported by Spiegel.
After the news of the coalition’s collapse, Musk wrote in German: ‘Olaf is a fool.’
Deputy government spokeswoman Christiane Hoffmann responded to Musk’s statement.
‘On X, there is freedom of [speech] for fools,’ Hoffmann said during a press conference in Berlin.
She also explained why the federal government continues to use the X account. According to her, social media is an important communication channel for the government, so its presence there remains necessary to inform about government activities.
According to the publication, due to the radical content that Musk allows on X, many public figures and ordinary users no longer use this social network. Since Musk took over Twitter in October 2022, several conspiracy theorists and right-wing extremists have been returned to the platform, and in many cases, radical content is no longer removed. This has prompted some politicians to call for a boycott of X and a cessation of activity on the platform.
