NABU is investigating contracts with Fire Point and five other drone manufacturers
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau is investigating six Ukrainian drone manufacturers as part of an investigation into possible price gouging during public procurement.
This is stated in the NABU’s response to a lawyer’s request on behalf of the Fire Point company. The document was published by the company’s co-owner, Denys Shtilierman.
According to the document, criminal proceedings were opened in early February 2025 under articles on misappropriation or embezzlement of property through abuse of office, as well as legalization of proceeds from crime.
Law enforcement officers are investigating the version of a possible conspiracy between officials of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine and other bodies with the manufacturers and their ultimate beneficial owners.
The investigation is examining the circumstances of the conclusion and execution of contracts with Fire Point LLC from August 2023 to November 2024. No suspicions were announced against the managers and founders of Fire Point, no indictment was drawn up, and no criminal legal measures were applied to the company.
The investigation is ongoing, and the verification concerns both the possible overpricing of the cost of unmanned systems and the awareness of officials about such actions.
