NATO mission takes control of weapons transfer to Ukraine and military training
The NATO mission took over the control of the arms transfer to Ukraine. It is also responsible for the training of the Ukrainian military, reported Minister of Defense of Poland Władysław Kosiniak-Kamys.
During a visit to the POLLOG HUB logistics center in Jasionka, through which military aid to Ukraine arrives, Kosiniak-Kamysh emphasized that the hub is guarded not only by Polish and Norwegian military, but also by American and German soldiers.
According to him, earlier the supply of equipment through the hub was carried out mainly within the framework of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the USA with the support of Poland, Great Britain and other countries. However, after the decision of the NATO summit in July 2024, a new mission was created – NSAT-U.
“The NATO mission, which is responsible for the transfer of equipment to Ukraine, that is, logistical support, is responsible for the preparation, training of the Ukrainian military and the acquisition of operational skills for the post-war period for the Ukrainian army”, – explained the Minister of Defense of Poland.
We will remind you that the POLLOG HUB logistics center in Jasionka, near the Ukrainian border, was created after the start of a full-scale war to coordinate the receipt of military aid from partners. Last year, the security of the hub was strengthened – Germany and Norway transferred additional air defense systems to protect it.
