Netanyahu plans to meet with Zelensky to discuss interception of Iranian drones: Ynet
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to hold a meeting on drones. As the Israeli newspaper Ynet reports, citing sources, the request is related to Ukraine’s significant experience in intercepting Iranian-made drones and is aimed at establishing Israeli-Ukrainian cooperation in this area.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk confirmed the request, noting that due to a limited schedule, the meeting has not yet taken place. He expressed hope that the talks could take place early next week, from March 16 to 22.
Earlier, Zelensky reported that Ukraine had received requests for assistance in intercepting Iranian “shaheeds” from 11 countries, including the United States, European states and Iran’s neighbors. However, negotiations with Israel had not been previously reported.
At the same time, the head of Iran’s parliamentary national security committee, Ebrahim Azizi, threatened Ukraine with strikes, saying that Ukraine’s support for Israel with drones had allegedly “de facto dragged it into war.”
