The average monthly salary of Ukrainians has reached $530: State Statistics Service

The wages of Ukrainians in dollar terms have exceeded the pre-war level, demonstrating steady growth against the background of a shortage of qualified workers. About this informs State Statistics Service.

The average salary of full-time employees in Ukraine in the third quarter of 2024 increased by 22.3%, reaching 21,946 hryvnias. This is 56.6% more in hryvnias compared to the pre-war year 2021, when the average salary was 14,014 hryvnias. In dollar terms, the salary is now $532, which is also higher than the 2021 level ($514).

The National Bank of Ukraine notes that due to competition for employees, employers are forced to raise wages. However, the growth of real wages slowed somewhat due to increased inflationary pressures. Despite this, the NBU predicts that the real salary will return to the pre-war level by the end of 2024.

According to official data, in 2023, the average nominal salary in Ukraine increased by 17.4%, and the real one, taking into account inflation, by 3.7%. In 2024, the nominal salary is expected to increase by 21.0% (previously forecasted by 16.1%), and the real salary by 14.0% (instead of 9.7%).

For 2025, nominal wages are expected to grow by 16.0% and real wages by 6.5%. In 2026, these indicators will be 8.9% and 2.9%, respectively.
