‘There will be a mirror response”: the Russian Foreign Ministry voiced nuclear threats against the United States

The Kremlin has again threatened a nuclear response to the United States, this time claiming that Washington could receive a “mirror response” if nuclear tests resume. Such a statement was made by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Serhiy Ryabkov, TASS reports.

“If the processes begin, which would mean that the USA is looking in the direction of resuming nuclear tests, we will not “get rusty”. Russia will immediately respond in kind”, – he noted.

Russia has repeatedly issued nuclear threats addressed both to Western countries and the United States. Recently, President Vladimir Putin proposed changes to the state policy of the Russian Federation regarding the conditions for the use of nuclear weapons. In particular, he suggests clarifying the circumstances under which Russia can use nuclear weapons.

The European Union strongly condemned these new nuclear threats from the Kremlin, especially in the context of allowing a nuclear response in the event of massive air attacks on Russia. At the same time, according to Time, Western leaders are less and less responsive to Moscow’s nuclear threats and more confidently express their support for Ukraine, despite the Kremlin’s rhetoric.
