In the USA, a camera that shoots through walls and clothes has been developed: details

Researchers from the University of Texas at Dallas have made a breakthrough in the field of mobile technology by developing a camera that can “see” through opaque obstacles. This innovative technology uses millimeter waves, similar to airport scanners, but on a much smaller scale.

About this informs LiveScience.

It took about 15 years to develop a camera that fits into a smartphone. Currently, it allows you to shoot objects at a distance of up to 2.5 centimeters, but scientists are already working on the next version, which will increase this distance to 12.7 centimeters.

The potential areas of application of this technology are impressive. It can be used to find hidden wires, pipes, fasteners in walls and other structures. In addition, the camera has great potential in medicine, for example, for imaging internal organs and tissues.

American designers have also developed clothing that prevents tracking. Adam Harvey and Joanna Bloomfield launched Stealth Wear, a line of clothing that will help you hide from infrared cameras in drones.

The novelty is especially relevant, considering the recent decision of the US Congress to launch 30,000 drones that will monitor the territory of the United States from the air. The system should be fully operational in 7 years. The key elements of the collection are a burqa, a scarf and a sweater. Another anti-surveillance detail is a pocket that turns off the phone.
