Orban threatens to lift EU sanctions against Russia if Ukraine does not resume Russian gas transit

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that his country can achieve the cancellation of EU sanctions against Russia if the transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine is not restored. About this informs Bloomberg.
“If the promise is broken, we will not just offer to lift the sanctions, we will lift them.” – noted Orban.
Orban emphasized that the termination of the supply of Russian gas through Ukraine is unacceptable, as it causes an increase in energy prices in Central Europe.
At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijjártó, announced that the European Union has provided Budapest with energy security guarantees, pledging to protect the supply of natural gas and oil pipelines to EU countries.
“Hungary received the requested guarantees regarding the energy security of our country. The European Commission undertook to protect the supply of natural gas and oil pipelines leading to the countries of the European Union.” – he emphasized.
