Over 260 checkpoints deployed in Chernihiv region due to blackout

As a result of the night attack, Chernihiv and the northern communities of the region were left without electricity. Currently, critical infrastructure is powered by generators, and more than 260 invulnerability points have been deployed in the region. This was reported by the head of the regional military administration, Vyacheslav Chaus.

“As a result of the night attack, Chernihiv and the northern communities of the region were left without electricity. Hospitals, social institutions, and utility companies are operating on backup power. Similarly, water utilities: there is water mainly up to 4-5 floors. Water taps have been opened for residents of high-rise buildings. Water has already been delivered to some areas of the city”, – the report says.

According to Chaus, restoration work is impossible in some areas due to the risk of repeated shelling, but where the situation is safe, energy workers continue to work to restore power supply as soon as possible. Currently, there are more than 260 invincibility points throughout the region, where residents can warm up and recharge their devices.

As a reminder, on the night of October 21, Russian troops attacked the Chernihiv region with drones and missiles, and hits were recorded on a heat supply facility and energy infrastructure. According to the consolidated data of the Air Defense and Defense Forces, 51 air targets were detected during the day, including two ballistic missiles.
