Over 300 foreigners are missing in Ukraine

More than 300 foreigners and stateless persons are currently recorded in the Unified Register of Missing Persons under Special Circumstances. About this reported Commissioner for issues of missing persons, Artur Dobroserdov.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine created and launched the Unified Information Platform, which contains structured data and step-by-step instructions for families of missing persons. The portal is designed to simplify access to information and provide a clear understanding of how to act in the event of the disappearance of a loved one.

“Information about missing persons and stateless persons is also placed in the Unified Register. As of today, more than 300 foreigners and stateless persons are considered missing. These are both military and civilians.”– Artur Dobroserdov.

On the portal, families can find out the current status of the case, find the contacts of the responsible authorities, familiarize themselves with the news and check whether the person has been captured.

Director of the Department of Communication of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Maryana Reva emphasized the importance of such a resource, as it will help to avoid bureaucratic confusion:

“The portal is designed to help families immediately contact the necessary authorities and follow the correct course of action, which will facilitate the search for a missing person. The website has clear instructions on how to act when a loved one has stopped contacting you.”

The peculiarity of the resource is that it combines data not only from the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but also from international partners. There are direct links to check possible information about a person’s stay in captivity.
