Peacekeepers may be allowed to hit Russian troops in the event of a ceasefire failure
European peacekeeping forces, which plan to deploy to Ukraine after the end of the war, may be allowed to strike Russian forces in case of violations of ceasefire agreements. About this informs Associated Press.
Britain and France have organized a summit aimed at forming a “coalition of the willing” to support a plan to create a peacekeeping mission to deter Russia. Leaders of the coalition working on security guarantees for Ukraine are considering the possibility of attacks on Russian facilities in response to the Kremlin’s attempts to resume hostilities.
Currently, we are talking about “immediate and targeted strikes” on Russian positions. It is planned that the mission will be equipped with heavy equipment and weapons stocks that can be quickly delivered to Ukraine within a few hours or days in the event of a ceasefire violation.
One of the proposals provides for the placement of peacekeepers at important infrastructure facilities, in particular at nuclear power plants, with the support of Western aviation and the navy. Control of the front line will be carried out remotely using drones and other modern technologies.
