PFU named the number of Ukrainians with a pension of over 10 thousand hryvnias

More than half of Ukrainians receive pensions of less than 5 thousand hryvnias, while only 15% of citizens receive more than 10 thousand hryvnias. This was reported by the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU).

As of mid-October 2025, the distribution of pensions looks like this:

  • up to 3,000 UAH – 3.7% (373,261 people), average amount – 2,286.12 UAH;
  • from 3,001 to 4,000 UAH – 31.6% (3,220,307 people), average amount – 3 342.38 UAH;
  • from 4001 to 5000 UAH – 20.5% (2,099,212 people), average amount – 4,510.28 UAH;
  • from 5001 to 10,000 UAH – 29.1% (2,972,167 people), average amount – 6,861.24 UAH;
  • over 10,000 UAH – 15.0% (1,534,695 people), average amount – 15,752.55 UAH.

The average pension as of mid-October 2025 was 6,436.79 UAH. Over the year, it increased by 647.74 UAH or 11.2%.

At the same time, the number of pensioners decreased by 143,988 people, to 10,199,642. Accelerating inflation has led to a decrease in real pensions (taking into account price increases) since mid-2024. Thus, in October 2025, pensions were 10% higher than a year ago, but inflation during this period was 11.9%. As a result, the real pension decreased by approximately 2%.

The only mechanism for increasing pensions remains indexation. It took place in March 2025, and no new increases are expected by the end of the year. The state budget for 2025 includes the next indexation also for March.
