PFU will pay 35 billion hryvnias to recipients of special pensions based on court decisions

In 2025, the pension fund will be forced to pay 35 billion hryvnias to recipients of special pensions according to court decisions. About this reported Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danylo Hetmantsev.

“We say that we have an imperfect pension system, that we have low pensions, that there is no money in the budget to somehow increase these pensions – this is true. But special laws make an exception for the “chosen ones”. For your understanding: 35 billion hryvnias in the Pension Fund’s expenditures this year are money for payment according to court decisions to such pensioners. Certain privileged castes of society.”– Getmantsev stated.

In his opinion, the basis of building a fair pension system should be the abolition of special pensions, together with the detinization of salaries and the introduction of the accumulative pension system.

“These are interrelated issues that all need to be resolved. Difficult ones that will definitely meet the resistance of the system, we can already see this on the example of the draft law on the abolition of special pensions for prosecutors.” Hetmantsev added.

We will remind you that on April 15, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading the draft law No. 12278 “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding Pensions of Employees of the Prosecutor’s Office.” It is not yet known when the draft law will be considered in the second reading, as the Committee on Social Policy is currently refusing to approve it.
