PrivatBank blocks customer accounts for crypto transactions and does not refund funds
PrivatBank clients are increasingly facing sudden service interruptions and blocking of access to their accounts. According to data from the Ministry of Finance financial portal, the main reason for such sanctions by the bank is transactions related to the circulation of cryptocurrencies.
One of the affected users reported that his account was frozen instantly after selling the USDT digital asset and transferring the funds received to a bank card. Subsequently, the financial institution unilaterally terminated the cooperation agreement, but the legal owner of the money was never able to get his funds back.
Bank representatives justify such steps by the presence of suspicions of fraudulent transactions, while they do not provide customers with any documentary evidence or detailed explanations regarding specific violations. The support service also demonstrates a closed nature, avoiding providing comprehensive answers, which actually deprives citizens of the opportunity to promptly resolve the conflict situation.
Financial market experts attribute such activity of the bank to the strengthening of the norms of state financial monitoring, which obliges institutions to carefully check the sources of origin of each client’s funds. However, human rights activists emphasize the importance of following procedures. One of the leading lawyers in the field of banking law noted that citizens should not ignore such incidents.
“In the event of an unjustified blocking of an account, it is necessary to demand an official written response from the financial institution indicating the reasons for the refusal to provide service,” he emphasized.
Experts also add that in the absence of a constructive dialogue with the bank, the only effective method of protecting rights is to contact the state regulator or file a lawsuit in court.
“Only an official appeal of the bank’s actions allows you to force the institution to comply with the regulations and return the blocked assets,” he added. legal expert.
Currently, the situation remains tense as the number of complaints about delays in the refund process continues to grow.
