Poland cancels negotiations with Ukraine regarding the export of grain: details

Poland refused the negotiations with Ukraine scheduled for May 14 regarding the export of Ukrainian grain across the border. The reason was a series of accusations of corruption brought against the Minister of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi.

It is reported Polish edition Agropolska with reference to the statement of the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Poland Michał Kolodzejczak.

“Negotiations with Kyiv have been interrupted because we will not negotiate with people accused of corruption“, Kolodziejczak said.

He explained that Poland cannot ignore the serious charges brought against Solski and that cooperation with him under such conditions would be “unacceptable”.

“I protested not for myself, but to force decision-makers to take action to save Polish agriculture. And because I did it effectively, people, mainly farmers, trusted me and elected me to parliament to represent them thereSolsky emphasized, adding: “We planned another round of negotiations on May 14, but they were canceled.”

Regarding the negotiations with the Ukrainian side regarding the import of agricultural products, Kolodziejczak noted that the previous rounds of negotiations turned out to be difficult, although the parties tried to find a common language.

“Prime Minister Tusk delegated me to work in the ministry five months ago, here I have my own tasks that I want to fulfill. The new government is very open to farmers, we regularly meet, talk, look for solutions. This is a plot of land, which the Prime Minister secured for me”, he emphasized.
