Poland opens border with Belarus after “Zapad-2025” exercises
Poland reopens the border with Belarus, which was closed due to the joint military exercises “Zapad-2025” with Russia from September 12 to 16. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk.
According to him, the crossing in Terespol and cargo points on the border with Belarus will be opened on the night of September 25.
Let us remind you that on September 9, Donald Tusk announced the complete closure of the border with Belarus from September 12. He explained this by the increasing number of provocations by Russia and Belarus and their joint military exercises “Zapad-2025”.
On the night of September 10, Russian drones violated Polish airspace. The military conducted an operation to neutralize them, for the first time knocking down targets over the country. Prime Minister Tusk informed NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and noted that Poland will not introduce additional restrictions.
Tusk said that Poland shot down about 4 of the 19 drones that violated its airspace. One of the drones damaged the roof of a house and a car in the village of Vyriki-Wola in the Lublin Voivodeship, the wreckage of others was found in several settlements.
