Poland to extend buffer zone on border with Belarus

The Polish Ministry of the Interior has announced its intention to extend the temporary ban on staying in the border area with Belarus for another three months. This is reported by RMF24.

The current rules, approved by the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, were in effect until March 4, 2026. According to the new draft resolution, the restrictions will come into effect on March 5 and will last for 90 days.

The restricted area covers a section of the border with a length of more than 78 km. The Ministry emphasized that the extension of the ban is explained by the constant migratory pressure in the area.

In addition, the explanatory note states that recently cases of launching meteorological balloons with suspended packages of tobacco products have been recorded from the territory of Belarus.
