Polish carriers blocked the largest checkpoint on the border with Ukraine
Polish transporters started a protest action and blocked the approaches to the Dorogusk checkpoint, which borders the Ukrainian Yahodin. It is about the largest cargo customs post on the Ukrainian-Polish border, informs State Customs Service of Ukraine.
Protesters are currently only allowed one vehicle in each direction every hour, which is 25 times less than the intergovernmental agreement between Ukraine and Poland. At the same time, buses, humanitarian aid and fuel tankers heading to Ukraine cross the border without delay.
According to the information of the customs service, the main requirements of the organizers of border blocking are as follows:
- drawing attention to the current situation in the field of freight transportation on the territory of Poland;
- return of the permit system for Ukrainian carriers entering Poland.
According to the Polish side, the protest may last up to four months.
We will remind you that last week Polish carriers announced their intention to protest at the Dorogusk checkpoint, one of the key ones on the Polish-Ukrainian border. The cause of the action was growing dissatisfaction with working conditions and income levels. Polish transporters again accused Ukrainian colleagues of dumping rates for transportation and pushing them out of the market.
