Polish military will learn from Ukrainian operators to fight against Russian drones
Polish units specializing in the fight against drones will undergo training under the leadership of Ukrainian operators to strengthen the country’s defense against Russian attacks. Training is organized in “safe places”. This was stated by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, reports The Guardian.
Radoslav Sikorsky noted that Ukrainian operators will conduct training for Polish anti-drone teams in order to strengthen their readiness for possible future Russian attacks on Polish territory.
“The Ukrainians have better equipment to fight against Russian drones, as well as a much deeper and more relevant experience of confronting the Russian army”, explained the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland.
He emphasized that it is the Ukrainians who will teach the Poles how to effectively oppose Russia, and not the other way around. In his opinion, both society and Western governments should realize this as soon as possible. The transfer of Ukrainian experience in combating drones to Polish teams will take place at the NATO training center located in Poland. According to Sikorskyi, this format is safer than holding exercises on the territory of Ukraine.
Sikorsky also noted that Poland’s reaction to the Russian attack would have been “much tougher” if during the September 10 airstrike there had been wounded or killed on Polish territory. At the same time, he refrained from concrete explanations of what exactly such an answer could be in the future.
“With such an aggressor and a liar like Putin, only the harshest counter-pressure will work, he added.
Let us remind you that on September 10, during a conversation with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi discussed violations of Polish airspace and offered to share Ukrainian experience in shooting down Russian drones.
