Potential appointees to Donald Trump’s administration began to receive threats

Several candidates for key positions in the new US administration have received threats not only about their lives, but also about the safety of their family members. This was announced by the transition team of President-elect Donald Trump, transmits Associated Press.

A spokeswoman for the transition team, Caroline Levitt, said several senior government appointees had received “violent and un-American threats” over the course of the previous night and morning.

“Last night and this morning, several of President Trump’s Cabinet nominees and administration appointees were the victims of violent and ‘un-American’ threats against their lives and the lives of those who live with them.”, – said Caroline Levitt.

She noted that among the received threats were reports of possible explosions and kidnappings. Also, several false calls to the police on false pretexts to the addresses of the victims were recorded.

Among those who have been threatened are Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, whom Trump has chosen to be the next ambassador to the United Nations, Matt Goetz, who has been nominated for the position of attorney general, and Lee Zeldin, who is assigned to lead the Environmental Protection Agency.

“In response, law enforcement and other agencies responded quickly to ensure the safety of those targeted. President Trump and the entire transition team are grateful for their swift actions.”Leavitt said.
