Civilians injured in the explosions will be entitled to the status of war veterans: Veterans Ministry

At the initiative of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made changes to Resolution No. 306, which concerns the establishment of a connection between disability and injuries. Now civilians who were injured by explosive objects in the territories controlled by Ukraine have the opportunity to obtain the status of a person with a disability as a result of the war. About this reported Ministry of Veterans Affairs.

Previously, only residents of the territories where hostilities were fought could receive such a status. Now, the changes also cover victims in regions that have been hit by Russian shelling, but are not in the zone of active hostilities. To confirm such cases, it will be necessary to provide a document from the State Emergency Service (SES).

Minister of Veterans Affairs Nataliya Kalmykova emphasized that these changes are designed to simplify the procedure for obtaining the status, and added that further simplifications will be achieved through the digitization of this process.

In addition, the changes to Resolution No. 306 will help not only simplify the process for those affected, but also provide them with the necessary medical and social support. People who receive this status will have access to government benefits, compensation and other types of assistance provided by law for persons with war-related disabilities.
