Preparations are underway in Ukraine to appoint new heads of five regional administrations
On January 3, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that consultations are underway on the appointment of new heads of regional state administrations in five regions: Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions. The President reported this on Telegram.
According to Zelensky, decisions on the candidates should be made in the near future, after which the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will officially approve the appointments. The President added that the new heads of regions should start work next week. Specific candidates have not yet been announced, and the approval process is ongoing.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that he had held consultations with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko regarding personnel changes in the government, in particular, the possible appointment of the current Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal to the position of Head of the Ministry of Energy. This indicates a comprehensive approach to updating leadership positions at both the regional and central levels.
Consultations on the appointment of regional heads are taking place in the context of the importance of effective regional governance and ensuring coordination between central authorities and local administrations. The President emphasized that the purpose of these personnel changes is to strengthen the administrative resource and respond promptly to the challenges facing the regions.
