PrivatBank and Aurora launch FacePay biometric payment network

PrivatBank, in cooperation with the Aurora chain of stores, announced the launch of Ukraine’s largest biometric payment system for purchases using FacePay technology. About this it is said in the bank’s official statement.

“From now on, the function of biometric face payment via FacePay from PrivatBank is available in all stores of the network where Android POS terminals are installed – both at regular cash registers and at self-service cash registers.” – stated in the message.

The new system allows payment even if the client left his wallet or phone at home. Payment is made through facial recognition based on biometric data.

“FacePay is another step towards a smart store. We understand that time is the most valuable thing, so we are introducing new services that make shopping even faster for our customers, and now the payment process has become as simplified and comfortable as possible.”, — explained Vitaly Kolisnyk, Fintech manager of the Aurora network.

FacePay, as stated in the message, guarantees the security of payments, because in addition to facial recognition, the system additionally requires entering a PIN code.

“If you left home to buy something you need, but forgot your phone – now it’s not a problem, together with our partners, we launched biometric technology that allows you to buy everything you need in Aurora without a wallet or even a smartphone. The joint project of PrivatBank and Aurora will be the most massive launch of biometric payment for purchases in offline retail in Ukraine.”Serhiy Makarenko, the head of PrivatBank’s commercial acquiring department, said.
