Pro-Russian events were organized with the participation of children from the occupied territories: Balytsky will be tried in Zaporizhzhia

In Zaporizhzhia, law enforcement officers submitted an indictment to the court against the head of the occupation administration of the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region, Yevhen Balytskyi, as well as an activist from Melitopol and the head of the so-called “Ministry of Youth Policy”. They are suspected of organizing pro-Russian propaganda among Ukrainian youth through mass events aimed at supporting the Russian Federation.

As reported on September 16, I worked as a press officer Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor’s Office and State Police Department in Zaporizhzhia Region, in the summer of 2022, these individuals created youth organizations in the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia Region, which actively influenced the outlook of schoolchildren and students.

“In the public space and with the help of the created media resources, they influenced the worldview of the younger generation, actively promoting the narratives of the Russian Federation, idealizing life under the auspices of the Russian Federation, calling on schoolchildren and students to have a tolerant attitude towards the occupiers.”, – indicated in the message.

The investigators qualified their actions under Part 2 of Art. 28 and Part 6 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Collaborative activity). After the completion of the pre-trial investigation, on September 10, the indictment was submitted to the court.

The accused face up to 12 years in prison.
