The Prosecutor General’s Office has requested the extradition of Mindich and Zuckerman from Israel.
The Prosecutor General’s Office sent a request to Israel for the extradition of the defendants in the “Midas” case, Timur Mindich and Oleksandr Zukerman. This was reported by the UCP spokeswoman Mariana Hajovska-Kovbasyuk.
According to her, after receiving a request from NABU for the extradition of these individuals to Ukraine, a number of procedural and technical shortcomings were discovered during its processing. In the working order, the Prosecutor General’s Office together with the NABU processed and completed 24 volumes of materials, as well as prepared and translated the text of the request.
“After the final elimination of shortcomings and errors, the extradition request was sent to the Ministry of Justice of the State of Israel,” – the spokeswoman said.
Earlier, the chief detective in the “Midas” case, Oleksandr Abakumov, in an interview with the Youtube channel “There is a Question”, said that two weeks ago the National Anti-Corruption Bureau submitted to Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko for signature the necessary documents to send a request for the extradition of the defendants in the “Midas” case, Timur Mindich and his business partner Oleksandr Tsukerman, who are currently in Israel.
He also noted that Israel is a very difficult country to extradite. According to him, in order to achieve the extradition of a person, it is necessary to actually transfer all the materials of the criminal proceedings.
