Prosecutor in Cherkasy detained on suspicion of paedophilia: details from the mayor

In Cherkasy, on the evening of October 16, an employee of the prosecutor’s office was detained on suspicion of pedophilia. This was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to official information, the employee of the prosecutor’s office is suspected of committing criminal offenses under the articles of Part 2 of Art. 155, Part 1 of Art. 156 and Part 3 of Art. 156-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
“According to this fact, on October 7, the Prosecutor General’s Office started a pre-trial investigation, the conduct of which was entrusted to the Main Investigative Department of the State Bureau of Investigation. During the pre-trial investigation, the prosecutor was detained on October 16.”, — informs Office of the Prosecutor General.
Currently, the issue of serving the suspect on the detainee and submitting a petition to the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved.
The mayor of Cherkas Anatoly Bondarenko commented on the situation, noting that the detention took place near the 17th school.
“The employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, together with other law enforcement officers, detained an employee of the prosecutor’s office on suspicion of pedophilia. The fact is that I, as a father, also go there with my children.” – noted an official
