Reconstruction of “Okhmatdyt”: the Ministry of Health approved the new Council for the reconstruction of the children’s hospital
First of all, representatives of charitable organizations will be invited to join the Council.
The Ministry of Health of Ukraine issued an order approving the Regulations on the Council for Controlling the Restoration of Destroyed (Damaged) Buildings of the National Children’s Specialized Hospital “Okhmatdyt” – the “Okhmatdyt” Restoration Council. This is stated in messages on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Health.
This Board will provide public oversight of all recovery processes related to the hospital. The main tasks of the Council will be to maintain transparency and integrity during the selection of a contractor for the current repair and interior equipment of the buildings of the modern medical and diagnostic complex of the hospital.
The council for the restoration of “Okhmatdyt” will consist of 15 people. The process of formation of the Council will be carried out in two stages. At the first stage, it will include representatives of philanthropists who made the largest donations and organizers of fundraising (six people), a representative of the Ministry of Health (one person) and a representative of “Okhmatdyt” (one person).
The second stage will include the selection of seven representatives of public associations and charitable organizations working in the areas of corruption prevention, protection of patients’ rights and development of health care. The selection will be made by the staff of the Recovery Council based on application review and rating voting.
The Ministry of Health reported that the announcement of accepting applications will be published on the official website of the ministry. The Regulations specify the criteria for selecting candidates and the procedure for submitting applications. Representatives of public organizations will be selected by the staff of the Recovery Council based on the results of application review and rating voting.
“First of all, representatives of philanthropists will be invited to join the Council, taking into account the size of the contribution for the purposes of reconstruction and restoration of “Okhmatdyt” and participation in the organization of the collection of charitable funds”, – added the Ministry of Health.
The Okhmatdyt Recovery Council will be an important tool for ensuring public control over the hospital’s recovery process. This will ensure that all work will be carried out with the highest standards of transparency and integrity, which is critical to restoring confidence in the health care system in Ukraine.
