“Ukrzaliznytsia” bought coal at the most expensive offers

“In all cases, there was a lot of competition at the auctions in the first half of August, but firms that made discounts of up to 20% of the expected value eventually refused to conclude deals for various reasons. And the companies that made the most expensive offers won, the report says.

Tenders were conducted through the “Prozorro.Market” according to the procedure of requesting price offers, where participants submit a starting offer without the possibility of further price reduction, the publication clarifies.

“The winner was the most expensive participant “D.Trading” from Rinat Akhmetov’s group with a price of UAH 11,900/t. Akhmetov’s firm won the auction without dropping a single penny from the customer’s expected value, unlike all other participants, – reports “ Our Money”.

Specifically, seven companies took part in the tender worth UAH 40.28 million, but the six cheaper ones refused to sign the agreements. Among them are “Energopostach Trade” LLC, “Homeland Resources” LLC, “Mining Resource” LLC, “Mix Service Group” LLC, “Zakhidmarket” LLC. and Energo Vostok Anthracite LLC, which offered prices in the range of UAH 9,872–11,644/t including VAT.

“ Energy Supply Trade” reneged on the deal, citing rising wholesale prices. “Mining resource” motivated the decision by objective circumstances, “ Zahidmarket” — hospital director, and “Energo Vostok Anthracite” stated about “objective circumstances that have arisen recently and make timely and proper delivery impossible”. Other participants did not provide security and did not sign the contract.
