Russia has expanded the “Zapad-2025” military exercises, involving the Kaliningrad region, although it previously stated that the maneuvers would take place in Belarus on training grounds in the interior of the country or in the eastern regions of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Baltic fleet together with Belarusian troops conducted training in Kaliningrad region. At the second stage of the maneuvers, the marines practiced combat with the amphibious landing of a conditional enemy, firing small arms and arming BTR-82A armored personnel carriers.
During the simulation of the defense of the coast, the Russian military used the Berezhok combat missile and artillery complex, reporting the destruction of the naval drone of the “conditional enemy”. Over the neutral waters of the Barents Sea, Tu-22M3 supersonic bombers, which performed “training and combat missions”, patrolled for four hours.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced that one of the stages of the “Zapad-2025” exercise will take place on September 15 at the 227th combined military training ground in the Minsk region.
Let’s remind you that on September 8, the head of the GUR Kyrylo Budanov said that the Russian-Belarusian exercises “Zapad-2025” do not pose any threat to Ukraine.
