Russia forcibly sends refuseniks to fight in Kharkiv region: ISW

According to the Institute for the Study of War, the Russian military command forcibly sends soldiers who previously refused to participate in hostilities to the front in Ukraine. Instead of trial, these servicemen are sent to the front lines, in particular to the north of the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.
About this informs Institute for the Study of War.
According to a preliminary assessment by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian troops launched an offensive in the north of the Kharkiv region without sufficient personnel in the Northern Group of Forces. To compensate for this shortage, the Russian Ministry of Defense decided to send military personnel whose cases were still pending in court to the front, thereby strengthening the limited forces in the area.
Instead of a trial, these servicemen found themselves on the front line. Their trials were suddenly canceled, and some were even taken out of their cells at gunpoint. According to Verstka, at least 170 servicemen became victims of this practice.
In addition, the Russian command sends conscripts and “incompetent” reservists to non-combat positions in the border troops in order to free up experienced soldiers to participate in the offensive in the north of the Kharkiv region.
