Russian attack in Dnipro claims 4 lives, damages Mechnikov hospital
As a result of a rocket attack on a residential building in Dnipro, carried out by Russian troops in the evening of October 25, four people were killed, including the wife and daughter of a police officer. The number of victims increased to 20 people, including four children. About this reported Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Lysak.
“Missile attack on Dnipro. Damaged residential building. There was a fire. We are figuring out the details“, Lysak noted.
According to him, 21 people were injured, seven of them are in the hospital. The condition of the 17-year-old boy is serious. More than twenty multi-apartment buildings were damaged in the city: one building was completely destroyed, another was recognized as emergency. Building materials for temporary repairs are issued to the owners of the affected houses.
Among the dead were the policeman’s wife and eldest daughter, while the youngest child was saved.
The missile strike also damaged the Mechnikov Hospital, one of the largest and most important medical facilities in the city, as well as other residential buildings in Dnipro. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, announced this in his Telegram channel.
“After all that was said in Kazan, the Russian killers returned to their usual business. And this once again proves that aggression cannot be stopped by talking, but only by decisive actions to protect the state and the people against whom the war has been waged“, — stated Zelensky
He reminded that during the past 24 hours, Russian troops also struck Kyiv, Sumy region, Khmelnytskyi region and other regions of Ukraine.
“In Dnipro, one of the most important hospitals of Ukraine – the Mechnikov Hospital – and ordinary residential buildings were damaged. Unfortunately, three people died, including a child. In Kyiv, this Russian strike took the life of a girl – she was only 14 years old. My condolences to family and friends. Many wounded from these blows. All of them were given the necessary assistance“, — added president.
