Russian troops attacked two ports in the Odessa region: one person died, at least eight were injured
On January 7, Russian troops struck two ports in the Odessa region – in Chornomorsk and Pivdenny. As of 6:00 p.m., one person was killed and at least eight others were injured in the attack, reported the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.
According to Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba, drones were used in Chornomorsk, as a result of which oil containers caught fire and two people were injured. The port of Yuzhny was hit by missiles, the administrative building and infrastructure were damaged, one person died, there are still injured.
The Sea Ports Administration of Ukraine reported that all relevant services are working on the ground in compliance with safety rules, and the elimination of the consequences of the strikes is ongoing. Despite the damage, the ports continue to function.
