SBI launches investigation against officials with fake disabilities from MSEC
In Ukraine, a large-scale check of the medical diagnoses of all officials is planned in order to detect cases of illegally obtaining disabilities. If suspicions about fake disabilities are confirmed, criminal proceedings will be opened against such officials. This was announced by the spokeswoman of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) Tetyana Sapyan during the telethon.
According to her, a special working group will be created to conduct inspections. If evidence is found that a person illegally received a disability while holding a public office, this will be the basis for opening a criminal case.
Suspicions may be brought under various articles of the Criminal Code, including forgery of documents, fraud, illegal enrichment and participation in organized criminal groups.
Tetyana Sap’yan emphasized that the main task of the SBI is to bring these cases to court and bring the culprits to justice.
We will remind you that earlier President Volodymyr Zelenskyy implemented the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) regarding the activities of medical and social expert commissions (MSEC). This decision provides for their liquidation, review of decisions and reform of the entire system of medical and social expertise in Ukraine. The Minister of Health, Viktor Lyashko, also announced new plans for conducting a medical and social examination in the country after the reforms.
