SBU exposes FSB “mole” in State Space Agency

The Security Service of Ukraine, with the assistance of the Minister for Strategic Industries, exposed another Russian agent who worked in the country’s state bodies. As noted the SBU press service, this time the spy turned out to be a high-ranking official of the State Space Agency of Ukraine. He had access to classified information about strategic enterprises of the defense complex, as well as to classified satellite images.
Law enforcement officers detained the agent during a meeting at the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, the Russian FSB recruited him back in 2024. Since then, Ukrainian special services have carefully documented all his actions, as well as contacts with Russian curators. In addition, the SBU used a spy to misinform the enemy, passing through him data beneficial to Ukraine.
The investigation showed that the agent agreed to cooperate with the FSB through his wife, who lives in Rostov-on-Don and has connections with the occupiers. He received a monetary reward for his activities, and after his retirement, scheduled for the summer of 2025, he planned to move to Russia.
The main tasks that the Russian special service set before the agent included the collection and transmission of confidential information. In particular, he collected data on the locations of military-industrial complex facilities that manufacture navigation systems, spare parts of strategic enterprises, warehouses with military equipment, as well as on the production of high-precision weapons in Ukraine. In addition, he had access to satellite images that could be used to plan Russian airstrikes on critical targets.
During the search, a mobile phone was seized from the detainee, which contained anonymous chats in messengers and e-mails used to communicate with the FSB.
Based on the collected evidence, the perpetrator was notified of suspicion. Currently, the issue of selecting him as a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
