Scheduled business inspections are being returned in Ukraine: which products will this apply to?

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine partially resumed scheduled inspections of some categories of non-food products that may pose a threat to consumers. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy.
In particular, it concerns the inspection of such products as children’s toys, elevators, elevator equipment, electronic devices, electric heaters and other products that may pose risks to the health and safety of users.
According to Oleksiy Sobolev, the First Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, since the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, there has been a moratorium on the inspection of non-food products. However, now state control is partially returning, in particular to ensure the safety of goods.
“At the same time, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the Council of the Business Ombudsman will monitor compliance with the norms of the current legislation and the transparency of the work of state market surveillance bodies during business inspections. This decision is also a requirement of European partners.”, – noted Sobolev.
According to the official notification, the checks will affect the following categories of products:
Moving equipment under pressure, personal protective equipment and elevators – inspections will be carried out by the State Labor Office;
Wheeled vehicles, new parts and equipment for vehicles – Ukrtransbezpeka will be responsible;
Medical products, products for in vitro diagnostics, as well as implantable medical devices – control will be carried out by the State Medical Service;
Children’s toys, electrical and electronic equipment, as well as space heaters – will be checked by the State Production and Consumer Service (DPSS).
