Senator Kelly Drops Tesla After Musk Calls Him a ‘Traitor’
Arizona Democratic Senator Mark Kelly has decided to give up his Tesla Model S after a public dispute with the company’s owner, Elon Musk, in which Musk called him a “traitor.” About this informs Bloomberg.
In the comments, Kelly called Tesla a “billboard” showing Musk’s support for President Donald Trump. Instead of a Tesla, the senator bought a white Chevy Tahoe. According to him, this decision was partly related to the fact that Musk headed the Department of Government Efficiency, which pushed government departments to cut tens of thousands of workers.
“He’s trying to free all these people by ruining people’s lives just to make way for a giant tax cut for billionaires like him.”, – noted Kelly.
Recently, the senator published a series of posts about his visit to Ukraine, where he emphasized the importance of supporting the country and criticized the policies of the Donald Trump administration. Musk commented briefly on one of his posts: “You are a traitor.”
In response, Kelly wrote:
“Ilon, if you don’t understand that protecting freedom is a core principle of what makes America great and keeps us safe, maybe you should leave it to those who do.”
