Shmyhal announces new system to replace liquidated MSECs
The Ministry of Health dismissed the leadership of the Central Medical and Social Expert Commission (MCEC) and the heads of the specialized department responsible for coordinating its activities. This decision was made at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, reported Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in his Telegram channel.
Shmyhal stressed that the MSEK in Ukraine will be replaced by a “digital, transparent, European model.” He instructed the Minister of Health to prepare and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers the necessary normative documents and draft laws to complete the reform of the MSEK and implement the new system by November 1.
The prime minister also announced that all decisions of the MSEC regarding the establishment of disability will be checked and reviewed within the next three months, especially those concerning officials. This decision is connected with numerous scandals regarding abuses in registration of disabilities.
We will remind that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on the liquidation of all medical and social expert commissions due to corruption schemes and abuses in the process of registration of disabilities. He also instructed to conduct an audit of the decisions of the commissions and check the accrual of pensions to officials who received disability through the MSEK.
