The court will consider the case of ex-SBU general Andriy Naumov
The case of the former head of the Main Department of Internal Security of the SBU, Andriy Naumov, who is accused of misappropriating UAH 4.1 million of state funds, has been referred to the court. About this informs press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
“An indictment was sent to the court against the former head of the Main Directorate of Internal Security of the SBU on the facts of abuse of official position, acquisition of other people’s property in large amounts and acquisition of other people’s property by fraud in particularly large amounts”, the message says.
According to the investigation, Naumov, while in the position of director of one of the state-owned enterprises, signed a contract that was economically unprofitable for the enterprise, which led to losses in the amount of more than UAH 370,000. He also illegally accrued and paid himself premiums in the amount of over UAH 460,000.
In addition, while working under a contract at the Security Service of Ukraine, Naumov fraudulently took possession of almost UAH 3.3 million of state funds, which were charged to him as the average monthly salary for the position of director of the enterprise.
The total amount of damages caused by Naumov to the state exceeds UAH 4.1 million. The investigation was carried out by investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation.
As you know, Andrii Naumov was declared an international wanted by Interpol at the request of the SBI. In June 2023, he was charged with forging documents to avoid responsibility in the Republic of Serbia.
We will remind, on June 7, 2022, Naumov tried to leave Serbia for North Macedonia, hiding from customs control significant amounts of cash and jewels: 592,990 euros, 120,102 dollars and two emeralds. All these assets, according to the investigation, were obtained illegally during his work in management positions in the state structures of Ukraine.
