Since September 1, a number of changes in various spheres of life took effect in Ukraine
A number of innovations covering the sphere of education, social support and notification systems have come into effect in Ukraine since September 1 New subjects await schoolchildren and students, teachers will receive increased payments, and internally displaced persons will receive additional types of assistance.
Among the main changes are the following:
- All employees of territorial picking centers are now required to wear body cameras and keep a continuous record during document checks and service of summonses.
- Basic military training is introduced in higher educational institutions: it is mandatory for men, and voluntary for women. The program includes theoretical classes, practice and taking an oath.
- A new subject “Entrepreneurship and financial literacy” appears in schools. for 8th grade students. Instead of the discipline “ Defense of Ukraine” an updated rate is introduced.
- Funding from the state is terminated for schools (except primary) with fewer than 45 students.
- Payments are increasing: the monthly supplement to teachers will be UAH 2,000; students of vocational schools will receive 6,320 hryvnias, college students — 7,600 hryvnias, universities — 10,000 hryvnias, and graduate students — 23,700 hryvnias. Entrants who score 185 points or higher on the NMT will be awarded UAH 10,000 per year.
- For businesses, electricity tariffs increase by 14–23%, while for the population they remain unchanged — 4.32 hryvnias per kWh.
- According to the program “isOselya” IDPs and residents of front-line communities will be able to receive compensation of up to 70% of the first installment and payments during the first year, as well as up to UAH 40,000 for document processing.
- Pensioners will receive allowances from UAH 300 to UAH 570 depending on age (70+).
- Subsidies will be reassigned automatically to the non-heating season until the end of September.
- Payments for internally displaced persons have been extended until February 2026 with updated conditions.
In addition, since September 22, a guarantee of a 15-day mandatory vacation will be introduced for military personnel, as well as additional days for participants in hostilities.
