U.S. approves record defense budget for 2025 of $841 billion

The United States Department of Defense will receive a record budget of $841 billion in 2025. About this stated US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin during a speech at the National Defense Forum.

According to Austin, the increase in defense spending is part of a long-term strategy to ensure US global military leadership. He noted that this budget exceeds 2021 defense spending by more than $100 billion and is the result of the passage of the new National Defense Appropriations Act.

“This is a historic step that ensures our Armed Forces will remain the most powerful fighting force in the world. We strive to be ready for the challenges of the future.” – emphasized the Minister of Defense.

The allocation of such significant funds, according to him, is aimed at strengthening the defense capabilities of the United States in response to growing global threats. Among the key challenges, Austin named the actions of China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, as well as the activity of international terrorist groups.

This budget will expand investments in advanced military technologies, cyber security, intelligence and modernization of key types of weapons. Also, a significant part of the funds will be directed to increase the readiness of the military forces, develop the infrastructure of the bases and ensure adequate social protection of servicemen.
