South Korean president detained on second attempt

On January 15, South Korean investigators entered the presidential residence to detain the impeached Yoon Suk-yeol. About this informs Yonhap.
Law enforcement officers and representatives of the Corruption Investigations Office (CIO) and the National Office of Investigation (NOI) had to use ladders to get past the second security cordon created by the buses and reach the president. The reason for the arrest was Yoon Suk Yeol’s introduction of martial law.
In preparation for the second arrest attempt, Yoon Suk Yeol ignored the call for questioning and barricaded himself in his residence. After a long confrontation, the investigators managed to detain him and take him to the Bureau of Corruption Investigations. Before his arrest, Yoon Suk Yeol released a short video message in which he called his arrest illegal, but said he had decided to submit to law enforcement to avoid bloodshed.
We will remind that since December 14, Yoon Suk Yeol has been removed from the duties of the president, but the final removal from office is possible only after the approval of the impeachment by the Constitutional Court. Until the court’s decision, Yoon Suk Yeol remains the official head of state.
