Special operations forces attacked the Tyumen refinery, covering about 2,500 km with drones

Deep Strike units of the Special Operations Forces struck the Tyumen Oil Refinery, located in the Tyumen Region of the Russian Federation, on June 20. This was reported by the Special Operations Forces on June 21.

According to the Special Operations Forces, the drones successfully reached the target, having covered approximately 2,500 kilometers. The command noted that the Special Operations Forces are strengthening their capabilities for long-range strikes.

The Tyumen Refinery is an enterprise with a full production cycle. Its throughput capacity is up to 9 million tons of oil per year.

The enterprise produces gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, and aviation fuel. The plant is important for supplying fuel to the regions of Western Siberia.

The SSO also emphasized that they would continue to apply “regular long-range sanctions” against Russia.

On the afternoon of June 20, the governor of the Tyumen region of the Russian Federation, Alexander Moor, confirmed the drone attack on the Tyumen refinery. According to him, Russian air defense allegedly repelled the strikes, and there was no damage to the plant.

President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that on June 20, military personnel of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked an oil refinery in Tyumen, Russia with drones.
