State registrar to be tried for lifting seizure of land plots worth UAH 22 million
Prosecutors from the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv have filed an indictment against a state registrar, whose actions resulted in the removal of a land plot from the communal property of the Lviv community. This was reported by the Information Policy Department of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
This concerns the lands of the nature reserve fund near the western outskirts of Lviv with a total area of over 2.7 hectares. According to the investigation, the registrar was aware of the seizure of this plot in the State Register of Property Rights imposed by the Zaliznychny District Court, but she groundlessly terminated it.
As the basis for this decision, she indicated the ruling of the Halytskyi District Court, which concerned the cancellation of another seizure within the framework of another criminal proceeding. According to the prosecutor’s office, this seizure was not registered in the State Register at all.
Later, the accused registered the ownership of the land plot under a private company operating in the transport sector. As a result of these actions, the Lviv territorial community lost land worth almost 22 million UAH.
The state registrar is charged with unauthorized changes to information in the State Register of Real Property Rights, intentional failure to comply with a court decision, and abuse of power for the purpose of obtaining unlawful benefit, which resulted in serious consequences. The court will provide a further legal assessment of the circumstances of the case.
