Summer School 2025 dedicated to human resilience and healthcare systems was held in Ukraine

The Summer School 2025 was held in Ukraine, dedicated to the topic of human resilience and health care systems. The event brought together hundreds of Ukrainian specialists whose activities are aimed at strengthening the health of the population and developing medicine at various levels: doctors, nurses, managers, educators, specialists in the field of public health and representatives of civil society. This is notified by the Ministry of Health.

Summer School 2025 was organized thanks to the cooperation of Ukrainian-Swiss projects in the field of health care – “Development of medical education”, “We act for health”, “Mental health for Ukraine”, “Rehabilitation of war injuries”, and as well as the World Bank, initiatives “ with the support of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine.

This year’s theme of the Summer School is resilience at all levels: from personal to state. During four days, the participants studied the main components of sustainability, shared real stories from Ukraine and discussed new opportunities for international cooperation.

The program consisted of lectures and panel discussions devoted to virtuous leadership, a healthy work environment, mental health and social resilience. Topics include “Personal Resilience as a Basis for Ukraine’s Resilience,” “Vulnerability and Personal Resilience,” “Stories of Personal Resilience: From the Beginning of the War to the Present,” “All Cases Made Up: Leadership Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow,” “The power of partnership: how Ukrainian-Swiss projects are changing the health system and strengthening its resilience”, “Identities in transformation for deeper resilience: Ukrainian-Swiss reflections”, “International cooperation in building resilience”, “Focus or Path to Fragility: Transforming Systems for Resilience” and others.

In addition to discussions, participants took part in practical formats: workshops, peer groups, the interactive educational exhibition Mental Track and resilience stations. There they worked on real cases, looked for common solutions, learned to restore their own resources and maintain internal balance in conditions of uncertainty and pressure. The summer school has become not only an educational space, but also a place where new ideas are born, meanings are formed and professional communities are strengthened.
