Sweden launches multi-year programme to support Ukraine’s civilian sector

The Swedish government plans to launch a long-term program to support the civil sector of Ukraine. About this reported The Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, referring to the statement of the Ambassador of Sweden to Ukraine.

The program includes the construction of facilities for the protection of energy infrastructure of the second and third levels, restoration of water supply systems, reconstruction of bridges and roads, construction of housing for internally displaced persons, as well as installation of solar power plants for communities.

According to the embassy, ​​Ukraine receives a significant share of international aid from Sweden.

Currently, this aid makes up 10% of the country’s budget. We allocate funds for military needs, as well as provide assistance to the civilian sector. These are both humanitarian aid and infrastructure reconstruction projects. We also have a formed strategy of financial assistance for Ukraine, where the energy sector is a priority“, – noted the Ambassador of Sweden, Martin Oberg.

In addition, Sweden seeks to support business cooperation between countries. According to the ambassador, work is currently underway to create tools that will make it easier for Swedish entrepreneurs to cooperate with Ukrainian partners. Sweden also actively encourages its entrepreneurs to import goods from Ukraine in order to support the Ukrainian economy.

In addition, Sweden is expanding its participation in supporting Ukraine by joining the IT coalition. The corresponding declaration was signed by the Minister of Defense of Sweden, Paul Jonson, on October 18, which emphasizes the further strengthening of Swedish aid to Ukraine in various areas.
