Sweden will transfer ASC 890 radar detection aircraft to Ukraine

Sweden will transfer ASC 890 long-range radar detection aircraft to Ukraine after establishing cooperation with F-16 fighters. ASC 890 will improve situational awareness in air combat and coordinate the destruction of enemy aircraft and missiles. About this informs Delphi.
The delivery of the ASC 890 will be coordinated in time with the arrival of the American F-16s in order to provide Ukrainian pilots with maximum efficiency in the use of these aircraft. These Swedish planes are equipped with powerful Erieye radars. They are able to detect air targets at long distances, coordinate the actions of combat aircraft and control the airspace.
The transfer of ASC 890 was announced back in May of last year as part of Swedish military aid. Sweden also supports the training of Ukrainian pilots, the training of technical personnel and operators of onboard equipment.
“We are operating according to the original schedule, but for security reasons we will not announce when and where these or other actions have taken place or will take place,” – said the Ministry of Defense of Sweden.
We will remind that on March 20, Ukraine received an additional batch of F-16 aircraft. This information confirmed President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi during a briefing.
