Switzerland will allocate $140 million to finance 12 reconstruction projects in Ukraine
Switzerland will finance 12 reconstruction projects in Ukraine worth more than 93 million francs (almost 140 million US dollars) within the framework of an intergovernmental agreement with Ukraine. This was reported by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
“Light in the front-line cities, a new production in Kremenchuk of fastenings for Eurorail, housing for IDPs and modern hospitals. All this will be possible thanks to 12 projects with Switzerland for more than 93 million francs. They were announced today during a meeting with the Swiss Special Representative for Reconstruction Jacques Gerber”, – noted Svyridenko.
She explained that Switzerland initially planned to allocate 50 million francs, but the government received 43 applications from businesses for more than 500 million francs. As a result, the budget was doubled, and part of the costs will be financed by the companies themselves.
The following projects are involved in the implementation:
- Energy and infrastructure — Hitachi Energy, Elektrobedarf Troller, Schwihag, Arthur Flury.
- Housing — Divario, DM Bau, Glas Trösch Group.
- Education — Rehau, Geberit.
- Healthcare — Roche, Innovatec Med.
- Humanitarian demining – FSD.
“All these projects will start in the fall of 2025, creating jobs, new industries and opportunities for communities”, – added Svyridenko.
