The 21st meeting of “Ramstein” will take place today: details

On Friday, April 26, the 21st meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine will be held in the “Ramstein” format. The meeting will be held online, and the key topics will be overcoming the six-month delay in American aid to the Armed Forces and general support for Ukraine in the war with Russia.
About this reported US Department of Defense spokesman General Patrick Ryder:
“Minister Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Charles Brown will hold a meeting of the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group on Friday this week in a virtual format“.
Two years since the first “Ramstein”
This meeting will take place exactly two years after the first “Ramstein”, which was convened on April 26, 2022. Since then, the Contact Group has become a platform for coordinating military aid to Ukraine from dozens of countries around the world.
The issue is on the agenda
It is expected that the following issues will be on the agenda of the meeting:
- Overcoming the delay in American aid: According to some sources, the United States has delayed the provision of military aid to Ukraine for six months. At Ramstein, Ukraine expects to receive a clear plan to overcome this delay.
- Increasing the volume and range of aid: Ukraine needs more weapons and ammunition, as well as new types of weapons, such as long-range artillery systems and anti-aircraft systems.
- Preparation for long-term defense: It is expected that the participants of “Ramshteyn” will discuss the issue of long-term defense of Ukraine and help it to rebuild and modernize the army.
- Sanctions against Russia: Perhaps the meeting will also discuss the issue of strengthening sanctions against Russia
